Due to the shape of the candle being a hollow tube it has a chimney effect when lit (heat and air current flow), and a mild suction action. The mild suction and the heat of the released vapours circulating inside the ear gently massage the eardrum.
The change of temperature leads to a change in pressure and expansion in these areas- example in the sinuses this will lead to congestion clearing. Gentle heat is experienced around the ear, promoting the blood and lymph circulation. The ingredient of the candle vaporises and circulates around the outer part of the ear. This draws out impurities and softened and can be removed up to 48hours after a treatment, eg it is naturally expelled in the shower or on the pillow in the morning.
The vapours are inhaled through the nose and into the lungs, where their therapeutic properties are circulated around the body via the blood. Many of the constituents of the candles have properties that cam and soothe the nervous system, and also have the effect of lifting depression and promoting a ‘feel good factor’.
The effect of the treatment can be further enhanced by a specialised massage of the face, neck, ears and scalp, so the treatment can have a significant effect on balancing the body and giving a feeling of well being
